Red light therapy is a $10 add-on to any spray tan at The Sunless Method. Here is what it is for, in Seana’s own words:
“The red light helps wake up your skin before your tan. It boosts circulation and supports healthy skin, which can help your skin look smoother, calmer, and more hydrated. Basically, we’re getting your skin in its best condition before we add the glow.”
That is the whole idea, and it is worth taking at face value rather than dressing it up.
Why “before” is the point
A spray tan lives in the top layer of your skin. It can only look as even as the surface it lands on, which is why so much of the prep advice (exfoliate, moisturize dry patches, nothing on the skin the day of) is really about getting that surface into shape.
Red light is the same thought, taken one step further. The prep you do at home deals with dead skin and product residue. The red light session deals with the skin itself: circulation up, skin calmer and more hydrated, and then the color goes on.
Who it suits
Anyone can add it, but it earns its place most for:
- Dry or dehydrated skin, the kind that tends to grab color unevenly at elbows, knees and ankles
- Skin that runs a little reactive, where “calmer” is the operative word
- A date that matters: a wedding, photographs, an event where the tan needs to look its best from the first morning
What it is not
It is not a substitute for prep. Exfoliating 48 hours before and again the night before, shaving or waxing in the right window, and arriving with nothing on your skin still decide most of the result. Red light is the finishing touch to that, not a shortcut around it.
How to add it
Choose it as an add-on when you book, or just ask at the appointment. $10, in studio or mobile, on top of any service: the Sunless Method Experience, the Student Glow or a Partial Glow.
We have not found another studio in Brentwood, Franklin or Nashville offering it. If you have skin that has been difficult to tan evenly before, it is the first thing to try.
