First-timers

Will I look orange?

Orange is a matching problem, not a spray tan problem, and the match is the whole appointment. It comes from two things decided before anything is sprayed: a solution whose undertone fights yours, and a DHA strength too high for your skin type (DHA is the ingredient that creates the color). Seana reads your natural tone and undertone first, then chooses the solution and the depth around your skin rather than spraying one universal bottle at everyone. If you have gone orange somewhere else, say so at the start. It narrows the match.

I have never had a spray tan. What actually happens?

You get prep instructions before you arrive. At the appointment your natural tone, undertone, desired depth and timeline are discussed before anything is sprayed. You leave with an aftercare card with your rinse window written on it, so there is no guessing afterwards.

How long does a spray tan appointment take?

The Sunless Method Experience takes about 30 minutes and the Student Glow about 20, with time to talk through your color first. Seana blocks extra time around every appointment to clean, disinfect and reset the studio, so nothing is rushed and you never walk into someone else’s session. For a group, allow roughly 30 minutes per person plus a longer reset at the end.

What do I wear during the appointment?

As much or as little as you are comfortable in. Disposable undergarments are provided if you would like them.

What do I wear afterwards?

Loose, dark clothing and open-toe shoes or flip-flops. Avoid tight bras, leggings and sneakers until after you rinse. Anything tight can rub the color while it develops.

Do I have to be a student to book the Student Glow?

No, but Seana will point you to the Sunless Method Experience instead. The Student Glow is built around younger skin, which in her experience needs less prep than adult skin does. Students can book the Experience as well, and plenty do.

Before your appointment

How do I prepare for a spray tan?

Exfoliate 48 hours before and again the night before, using a non-oil-based product. Shave 12 to 24 hours ahead, or wax 24 to 48 hours ahead. On the day, finish your shower at least 3 hours before your appointment, then apply no lotion, oil, deodorant or perfume.

Do I shave before or after?

Before, 12 to 24 hours ahead. Shaving after a tan exfoliates the color straight off. If you wax, do it 24 to 48 hours ahead.

Why does prep matter so much?

A spray tan develops in the top layer of skin, so it can only look as even as the surface it lands on. Dead skin, product residue and dry patches absorb color unevenly, which is what causes patchiness around elbows, knees, ankles and hands.

After your tan

How long do I wait before showering?

It depends on your solution. Original solutions need 8 to 12 hours before the first rinse. Rapid solutions rinse anywhere from 1 to 8 hours depending on how deep you want the color. You are told your exact window before you leave. Both keep developing after that first rinse. Use warm water only, no soap or loofah, rinse until the water runs clear, then pat dry rather than rubbing.

How long will my tan last?

Typically 7 to 10 days with proper aftercare. Moisturize once or twice daily with a fragrance-free, sulfate-free product and avoid exfoliating products to get the full range.

What shortens a spray tan?

Hot water, baths, saunas, steam rooms, pools, hot tubs, saltwater, heavy exercise, bar soaps, oil-based products, sulfate body washes, alcohol-based toners, acne treatments and waxing.

How do I remove a spray tan early?

Use a dedicated tan remover and exfoliate. Seana recommends Rose & Caramel Purity Excel 60 Second Self Tan Remover, which is on her Amazon list. It works because DHA, the active ingredient in every spray tan, only ever colors the top layer of your skin. Once that layer is removed, so is the tan.

What is a rapid solution?

A rapid solution develops faster, rinsing anywhere from 1 to 8 hours depending on how deep you want the result, versus 8 to 12 hours for an original solution. Both continue developing after the rinse.

Mobile appointments

How far do you travel for mobile appointments?

Within a 10-mile radius of the Brentwood YMCA on Concord Road. That covers Brentwood, Franklin, Cool Springs, Nolensville, Green Hills, Belle Meade, 12 South, Bellevue and the south and west of Nashville. A little beyond that (say 11 or 12 miles, which is where downtown Nashville sits) is often still possible depending on the day. Text your ZIP code and date and you will get a straight answer.

Do you offer mobile spray tans?

Yes. There is a private studio in Brentwood and mobile appointments where the setup comes to you. Mobile is $85 versus $55 in studio for the Sunless Method Experience, and the per-person price drops as a group grows.

What do you need from us for a group appointment?

A bathroom or a corner with a little space to set up, and somewhere for people to change. Everyone should arrive prepped: exfoliated the day before, and no lotion, oil, deodorant or perfume on the day. Allow about 30 minutes per person.

Will you come to the wedding venue or the getting-ready suite?

Yes. Venues, hotel suites and rentals are all covered at mobile pricing, the same rate as any other mobile appointment, and the bridal party gets the group rate. Text the date, the venue and how many people are being sprayed.

Do you travel to Arrington Vineyards?

Usually, yes. The vineyard is about 12 miles from the anchor point at the Brentwood YMCA, which puts it just past the 10-mile mobile radius rather than inside it, so it is agreed case by case rather than promised. For a bridal party it is rarely a problem: the group rate makes the trip work and a wedding is booked weeks ahead. Text the date and the headcount.

Groups & bachelorettes

Do you do groups and bachelorette parties?

Yes. Mobile group appointments are the natural fit for bridal parties, bachelorette weekends, dance teams and girls trips. Seana comes to your rental or home, and everyone is matched individually rather than sprayed with one shared formula.

How much is a mobile spray tan for a group?

Mobile group pricing for the Sunless Method Experience, per person: 1 person $85 · 2 people $70 · 3–4 people $65 · 5+ people $55. Pricing starts at one person, so there is no minimum headcount. Student Glow groups are quoted on request. Text the headcount and date.

Bridal

When should a bride get her spray tan?

A bridal trial 4 weeks before the wedding, then the final tan 2 days before. The trial sets your depth and undertone against your dress and your venue’s light; the two-day gap lets the color settle and the first rinse happen well before the photographs.

Safety, ingredients & red light

Is the solution safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. The products are clean, vegan and skin-nourishing, free from parabens, sulfates and harsh chemicals.

Which spray tan solution brands do you use?

Several professional lines, not one house brand, and the mix changes as better formulas come along, which is why they are not listed here. The solution is chosen for the person in front of her: your tone, undertone, depth and timeline decide it, not the bottle that happens to be open.

What does red light therapy do before a spray tan?

In Seana’s words: it helps wake up your skin before your tan. It boosts circulation and supports healthy skin, which can help your skin look smoother, calmer and more hydrated, so the glow goes on skin that is in its best condition. It is a $10 add-on to any service, in the studio or mobile.

Does a spray tan protect me from the sun?

No. A sunless tan is cosmetic color and offers no meaningful SPF. Keep using sun protection exactly as you normally would.

Is Seana certified?

Yes, through NUDA Professional, Aviva Labs, National Spray Tanning Professional Association, with additional training in color theory and contouring. She first sprayed in 2004 while managing a tanning salon, and opened The Sunless Method in 2025.

Pricing

How much does a spray tan cost?

The Sunless Method Experience is $55 in studio or $85 mobile. The Student Glow is $45 in studio or $75 mobile. Partial services start at $25 for a face glow, $35 for legs and $40 for upper body. Red Light Therapy is a $10 add-on.

What is the difference between the Experience and the Student Glow?

Both include custom color matching, a barrier spray before any color, the same professional airbrush application, and the same aftercare card with your rinse time written on it. The Sunless Method Experience adds a pH balancing spray, lotion worked into whichever areas are driest, a moisture seal to put the hydration back after the color, and a finishing powder, plus the time to do them: about 30 minutes against 20.

Booking & policies

Where is the studio?

About a mile from the Brentwood YMCA. It is a private backyard studio, so the exact address is sent to you once your appointment is confirmed.

What is your cancellation policy?

At least 2 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. With less than 2 hours' notice the deposit is forfeited.

How do I book?

Online through the booking link, or call or text 615-428-0746.

The Glow Scholarship

How do I nominate someone for The Glow Scholarship?

Through the nomination form linked on the scholarship page. A parent, teacher, coach, counsellor or church leader puts a name forward. The girl never applies herself. Seana reads every nomination personally and chooses on need. Nominations are kept private.
